RULES Hafidhs (Whoever memorize the whole Qur’an) may only participate in the first category (Category # 1). Last year's winners (First winner only) in categories restricted by age (Cat. # 5-9) must compete in a higher category. Maximum number of contestants per category to qualify for the finals is 5 for Cat. # 1-5 and 10 for the other Categories (males & females contestants combined). Names of contestants who will qualify for the finals will be posted on the website. Male contestants will compete in the main Salaat hall (Downstairs). Female contestants will compete separately (except Cat #9 and Cat #8) in the Upper Floor and may be judged by the same (male) judges. Contestants may not participate in a category other than the one they registered for. Contestants are not allowed to compete in more than one category. Contestants are allowed to compete in a category level above their age group (But not vice-versa ). Any category not having at least 5 contestants may be cancelled. Each category will have it's own final. Contestants will be tested (orally) for Memorization (75%) & Tajweed (25%). Age will be taking into account only as a tie-breaker. Categories may be changed or cancelled  later on. Registration deadline is: Mar. 11th, 2007 @ 11:59 pm (No Exceptions).
